EZL-80, EZL-80C and EZL-90

EZL-80 and EZL-80c are embedded serial (TTL level) converters for a wireless data transfer via WiFi 802.11b. Modules need to be connected to WiFi CF cards containing the radio equipment. EZL-90 is a development kit for the EZL-80C module

Application

As you can see in the picture, the embedded EZL-80 converter, or EZL-80c, is connected to the device communicating via serial TTL (3.3V level) transmission. The outline is the same using EZL-90 module: it is connected to the device communicating via serial RS-232 transmission. Opposite side is represented by other WiFi device (in so called Ad-Hoc mode) or WiFi Access Point (in so called Infrastructure mode), which makes the serial port accessible to the Ethernet network and can be communicated from any PC connected to the network or Internet.

The EZL-80 and EZL-80C Modules

EZL-80 and EZL-80C modules are embedded converters of a standard Wi-Fi interface (Wireless LAN IEEE802.11b in the frequency band 2.4 to 2.4835 GHz) to a serial port supporting UDP/IP and TCP/IP. First module needs to be integrated with a complete radio section, the second is equipped with a CF card slot.

EZL-80and EZL-80C are intended for conversion of a serial data signal in TTL (3.3V) voltage level and are suitable for direct connection to the serial line of your devices (CPU, microcontrollers, modem, etc.)

The EZL-90 development kit

EZL-90 is a development kit for the EZL-80C module inserted on board. The EZL-90 allows immediate EZL-80C module testing and its programming via RS-232 or Ethernet network before installation into a specific device. There are fastening slot bores in the printed circuit of the kit so it can be screwed to any device.

General notes

ezVSP (Virtual Serial Port) installation is conditioned by ownership of at least one module. In fact during installation it is necessary to enter the MAC address of the module and a Key which is obtained by a registration on Sollae webpage http://www.eztcp.com

The connection of the module's serial port and the application must be performed by so called "null mode" cable (crossed cable). That means connection of the RxD - TxD and RTS - CTS pins on both ends of the connecting cable.
